## Hyperliquid vs Aster at a glance

HyperCore executes spot and perpetual state on the Hyperliquid L1. Aster Perps offers an order book across Aster-supported chains and supports single-asset and multi-asset collateral modes.

The Aster side of this guide covers Aster Perps only. Aster Shield Mode and Aster 1001x use separate execution and fee rules. Keep each Aster product in a separate comparison.

## Hyperliquid vs Aster fees, checked 18 September 2026

For Hyperliquid, the guide uses a validator-operated perpetual at tier 0 before HYPE staking, referral discounts or product adjustments. For Aster, the guide uses the dedicated Aster Perps fee page and keeps each contract group separate.

Aster applies a 5% discount to perpetual trading fees paid with ASTER. Hyperliquid applies its own volume, HYPE staking, referral, aligned-quote and HIP-3 rules. Funding, slippage, collateral conversion and asset movement remain separate costs.

The Aster Perpetuals overview also showed 0.010% maker and 0.035% taker on 18 September 2026. The dedicated fee page showed different, product-specific rates. Because the two official pages conflict, verify the contract fee in the live order preview.

| Product | Maker | Taker | Published adjustment |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Hyperliquid validator-operated perp, tier 0 | 0.015% | 0.045% | Volume, HYPE staking and eligible referral reductions |
| Aster Perps, USDT contract | 0% | 0.040% | 5% discount when the fee is paid with ASTER |
| Aster Perps, USD1 general contract | 0% | 0.005% | 5% discount when the fee is paid with ASTER |
| Aster Perps, RWA contract | 0% | 0.009% | 5% discount when the fee is paid with ASTER |

Note: The Aster rows exclude Shield Mode and 1001x. Each Aster product has separate execution and fee rules.

## Chase is browser-run on Hyperliquid and native on Aster

Hyperliquid supports persistent limits, post-only ALO, IOC, triggers, reduce-only, Scale, Chase and TWAP. Hyperliquid Chase runs in the browser tab and allows up to five active Chase orders.

Aster Perps supports market, limit, stop-market, stop-limit, trailing-stop, post-only, reduce-only, GTC, IOC, FOK, BBO, Scaled and TWAP orders. Aster Chase runs in the matching engine, checks the best bid or ask each second and allows up to five active Chase orders per pair. Aster also offers a REST API for Chase orders.

Aster documents hidden orders that stay out of the public order book and positions that stay out of public data feeds. Test trigger prices, retry behavior, partial fills and cancellation behavior for each required order control.

## Which venue matches each use case

Set a venue policy for each market and strategy. Compare the exact contract, then keep an independent exit route.

Key points:
- Choose Hyperliquid for one native L1 trading state with HyperEVM, HYPE-linked fees and HIP-3 markets.
- Choose Aster Perps for a supported multichain route, a required quote asset or multi-asset collateral mode.
- Choose Hyperliquid when its public HyperCore API and browser-run Chase match the strategy design.
- Choose Aster Perps when native Chase, FOK, BBO, trailing-stop or hidden-order behavior passes your test.
- Choose another product if chain, quote asset, collateral and liquidation rules remain unclear after review.

## Verify the Aster product before funding

Repeat the comparison after either venue changes a fee page, supported chain or order control. Record the test date with the result.

Key points:
- Write down Aster Perps, the chain, quote asset and contract before funding.
- Compare the same notional against visible depth.
- Confirm the maker or taker rate in both order previews.
- Record funding and collateral conversion costs.
- Test the required stop, Chase, post-only or TWAP behavior.
- Withdraw a small amount through the intended route.
