Connect your wallet

Get USDC on Arbitrum
Hyperliquid accepts USDC deposits bridged from Arbitrum One. If you already hold USDC on Arbitrum, you are ready for the next step. Otherwise you have three main paths: (1) Buy USDC on a centralized exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, Bybit) and withdraw directly to your wallet on the Arbitrum network — this is the simplest path. (2) Bridge USDC from Ethereum mainnet to Arbitrum using the official Arbitrum Bridge at bridge.arbitrum.io (takes ~10 minutes). (3) Use a cross-chain bridge like Stargate, Synapse, or Across to move USDC from any chain to Arbitrum in under 2 minutes.
Deposit USDC into Hyperliquid
Inside the Hyperliquid app, click "Deposit" (or navigate to the Portfolio page). Select USDC and enter the amount you want to deposit. Confirm the transaction in your wallet. The bridge from Arbitrum to Hyperliquid L1 usually completes in 1-2 minutes. Your balance will appear in the Hyperliquid portfolio once the deposit is confirmed. There is no minimum deposit amount.
Place your first trade
Navigate to the Trade tab. Choose any perpetual market (BTC, ETH, SOL, or 100+ other assets). Set your leverage, order type (market or limit), and size. Click Buy/Long or Sell/Short. Verify the discount is active

The referral code field says I already have a code
Hyperliquid allows one referral code per wallet, set once and locked forever. If you previously connected through a different referral link, that code is permanently attached. The only workaround is to create a new wallet address and connect through app.hyperliquid.xyz/join/AWD before making any trades.
I connected my wallet but the code does not show up
Make sure you used the exact link app.hyperliquid.xyz/join/AWD (not just app.hyperliquid.xyz). If you connected without a referral link first, the code may not have attached. Check app.hyperliquid.xyz/referrals — if no code is listed and you have not traded yet, try disconnecting your wallet, clearing browser cache, and reconnecting via the AWD link.
My USDC deposit is not showing up
Arbitrum-to-Hyperliquid bridge deposits typically confirm in 1-2 minutes but can occasionally take up to 10 minutes during network congestion. Check the Arbitrum block explorer (arbiscan.io) to confirm your transaction was successful. If the transaction shows confirmed on Arbitrum but your balance has not appeared after 15 minutes, reach out in the Hyperliquid Discord.
Can I change my referral code after activating?
No. Hyperliquid locks the referral code permanently once set. This is a protocol-level restriction — there is no way to change or remove it. Since AWD gives the maximum 4% discount (no code gives more), there is no reason to switch.
Does the code work on mobile?
Yes. You can open app.hyperliquid.xyz/join/AWD in any mobile browser and connect via MetaMask mobile, Coinbase Wallet, or any WalletConnect-compatible wallet. The activation process is identical to desktop.
